Non US-Citizen Commercial Visa
- No Employment Permitted
- A valid, signed passport. The passport must have at least 6 months remaining after the completion of your stay in Japan, and contain at least one blank visa page.
- 2 Fully completed and signed original Japan Visa Application .
- Two (2) passport photographs
- Copy of US Alien Registration Card (Green Card) or valid US Employment Visa (US B1/B2 visa not accepted). With original I-94 card.
- Copy of itinerary or airline tickets showing round trip.
- Letter of invitation from company in Japan
- A business letter of introduction and financial responsibility is required to be typed on your company letterhead and addressed to: Embassy of Japan, Visa Section, Washington, DC. This letter must be signed by a company officer other than the traveler, and should:
- state the nature of business to be performed;
- include the name and address of the company to be visited;
- guarantee sufficient financial support during visit; and
- guarantee return transportation to the US for the applicant.
US Military Dependent Visa
- A valid, signed US passport. The passport must have at least 6 months remaining after the completion of your stay in Japan, and contain at least one blank visa page.
- Two (2) Fully completed and signed original Japan Visa Application .
- Two (2) passport photographs
- Affidavit of support from parent or spouse stationed in Japan guaranteeing all responsibility for the applicant including financial support
- Letter from the commanding officer in Japan confirming what accommodation arrangements have been made
- For child under 18 years: Notarized letter of consent from parent in the US
Work Visa
- A valid, signed passport. The passport must have at least 6 months remaining after the completion of your stay in Japan, and contain at least one blank visa page.
- Fully completed and signed original Japan Visa Application .
- Passport photograph
- Certificate of Eligibility issued by Japanese Ministry of Justice
US Citizen Entertainer’s Visa
- A valid, signed US passport. The passport must have at least 6 months remaining after the completion of your stay in Japan, and contain at least one blank visa page.
- 2 original Japan Visa Application
- Personal history (resume) as a performer, in duplicate
- Letter of invitation from promoter in Japan, in duplicate
- 2 Copies of your employment contract
- 2 stage photographs – 6″ x 8″
- 2 copies of a guarantee letter from the promoter in Japan
- 2 copies of the company registration of promoter in Japan
- 2 copies of permission issued by bank of Japan
- Applicant’s union card (if applicable)
- Acceptance contract between promoter and facility
- Certificate of tax payment of entertainment facility
- Details of entertainment facility (size and capacity)

Visa Information
Only original applications are accepted. Please contact our office for this form.
Some applications may be referred to the Japanese government for approval and would take 6 to 8 weeks to process, however most applications are processed within 24 to 48 hours.
Some nationalities are required to obtain an official guarantee letter, notarized, from the host company in Japan.
Some nationalities may experience additional visa costs and delays of up to six weeks with the issue of a Japan visa.
Processing time is approximately 5 working days at the consulate. (Some nationalities may experience delays of up to six weeks).
