Visa Requirements

US Citizens

For stays of up to 30 days, US citizens do not need a visa for tourist or business travel to this country, but a Passport valid for at least 6 months beyond your stay is required, along with an onward or return ticket.

Non-US Citizens

Tourist Visa

  1. A valid, signed US passport. The passport must have at least 6 months remaining after the completion of your stay in Nicaragua, and contain at least one blank visa page.
  2. Fully completed and signed Nicaragua Visa Application
  3. Passport photograph
  4. Evidence of legal residence in USA. (ie., valid multiple entry visa with I-94 attached or copy of alien registration card)
  5. Copy of round trip airline tickets or itinerary

Business Visa

  1. A valid, signed US passport. The passport must have at least 6 months remaining after the completion of your stay in Nicaragua, and contain at least one blank visa page.
  2. Fully completed and signed Nicaragua Visa Application
  3. Passport photograph
  4. Evidence of legal residence in USA. (ie., valid multiple entry visa with I-94 attached or copy of alien registration card)
  5. Copy of round trip airline tickets or itinerary
  6. A business letter of introduction and financial responsibility is required to be typed on your company letterhead and addressed to: Embassy of Nicaragua, Visa Section, Washington, DC. This letter must be signed by a company officer other than the traveler, and should:
    1. state the nature of business to be performed;
    2. include the name and address of the company to be visited;
    3. guarantee sufficient financial support during visit; and
    4. guarantee return transportation to the US for the applicant.

Fees

In addition to the standard Iratex fees, the following consular fees apply: $35.00 per visa for most nationalities

Visa Information

Your application will be checked and hand carried to the Consulate or Embassy, and is usually processed in three business days. Processing time varies by nationality.
