Visa Requirements

US Citizens

Tourist Visa

For stays up to 90 days, US citizens do not need a visa for tourist or business travel to this country, but a valid US Passport is required.

Business Visa

  1. A valid, signed US passport. The passport must have at least 6 months remaining after the completion of your stay in Peru, and contain at least one blank visa page.
  2. Two (2) fully completed, signed and fingerprinted Peru Visa Applications. Both applications must be originally singed and fingerprinted with the index finger.
  3. Two (2) passport photographs
  4. Original Airline ticket, copy of E Ticket, or flight itinerary showing confirmation number and that the ticket is paid.
  5. A business letter of introduction and financial responsibility is required to be typed on your company letterhead and addressed to: Embassy of Peru, Visa Section, Washington, DC. This letter must be signed by a company officer other than the traveler, and should:
    1. state the nature of business to be performed;
    2. include the name and address of the company to be visited;
    3. guarantee sufficient financial support during visit; and
    4. guarantee return transportation to the US for the applicant.

Non-US Citizens

Visa Information

Your application will be checked and hand carried to the Embassy and is usually processed approximately in 48 hours. Visas for some nationalities are referred for approval, and can take up to 2 months to process.

The Peru business visa is usually issued for a single entry within three months from date of issue, for stay in Peru not to exceed 90 days.

Applications for some nationalities (ie., Communist countries) are referred for approval, and can take two months or more to process. In some cases it may be necessary for a sponsor in Peru to obtain Foreign Ministry approval.
