Visa Requirements

Tourist Visa

  1. A valid, signed US passport. The passport must have at least 6 months remaining after the completion of your stay in Sierra Leone and contain at least one blank visa page.
  2. Fully completed and signed Sierra Leone Visa Application
  3. Passport photograph
  4. International Certificate of Vaccination for Yellow Fever and Cholera
  5. Copy of round trip airline tickets
  6. Official letter from the bank certifying sufficient funds are available for the visit.
  7. Letter of invitation from Sierra Leone host

Business Visa

  1. A valid, signed US passport. The passport must have at least 6 months remaining after the completion of your stay in Sierra Leone and contain at least one blank visa page.
  2. Fully completed and signed Sierra Leone Visa Application
  3. Passport photograph
  4. International Certificate of Vaccination for Yellow Fever and Cholera
  5. Copy of round trip airline tickets
  6. Official letter from the bank certifying sufficient funds are available for the visit.
  7. Letter of invitation from Sierra Leone host
  8. A business letter of introduction and financial responsibility is required to be typed on your company letterhead and addressed to: Embassy of Sierra Leone, Visa Section, Washington, DC. This letter must be signed by a company officer other than the traveler, and should:
    1. state the nature of business to be performed;
    2. include the name and address of the company to be visited;
    3. guarantee sufficient financial support during visit; and
    4. guarantee return transportation to the US for the applicant.

In addition to the standard Iratex fees, the following consular fees apply:

US Citizens$45.00 per visa
Canadian Citizens$72.00 per visa
British Citizens$56.00 per visa
Most Other Nationalities$37.00 per visa

Visa Information

The Sierra Leone tourist or business single entry visa is usually valid for three months from date issued, for a stay not to exceed 30 days. The Multiple entry visa Consular Fee is $90.00 and is usually valid for either 6 months or one year upon written request only, for maximum stay of 30 days
